Organized by Sandra Karina Loschke (UTS School of Architecture) in
partnership with the Australian Institute of Architects,****

The Museum of Contemporary Art and the Consulate General of Switzerland.

Join national and international architects, curators, historians, and
artists in a three-day symposium discussing materiality and interactivity
in art and architecture. Engage with a host of international speakers from
the Bartlett/UCL, California College of the Arts, Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, Technical University of Vienna, Central Saint Martin’s
College of Art and Design London, Université Laval/Canada, and University
of Auckland as well as our very own speakers from UTS, RMIT, USyd, UNSW, UC
and UQ.****

Listen to keynotes by two of Europe’s leading architectural theorists:****

*Philip Ursprung*, Professor for Professor of History of Art and
Architecture at ETH Zürich will be exploring the interface between art and
architecture looking at the work of Olafur Eliasson, Peter Zumthor and
Herzog de Meuron;* *followed by a discussion panel with Rachel Kent, Senior
Curator/ MCA, and others.  Date: 29 November, 6pm, MCA Auditorium.****

*Professor Jonathan Hill*, Professor for Architecture and Visual Theory at
the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, critically
re-evaluates contemporary responses to climate change by analysing the
 weather’s effects on the design and experience of specific buildings and
external environments. He interweaves these case studies with a historical
survey of changing attitudes to the weather in the arts, sciences and
society. Date: 28 November, 6pm, AIA, Tusculum. Pre-lecture drinks start
5.30pm****
